Histoy: He had a brother by the name of Kali, but they were serparated at the age of 9.
Damon and Kali were born vampires and they aged just as any normal human would. Since it was so rare that vampires were born and not made, humans wished to experiment on the young boys.
Their mother and father would have none of it, and protected their boys from the public, hiding inside the safety of their home. The humans soon grew impatient and set fire to their home, hoping to force them out of their home. Damon and Kali were told to run out the back of the house while their mother and father went out the front to distract them.
The young boys could not bear to leave their mother and father, and so went to the front of the house. What they witnessed would haunt them for the rest of their life. Their mother was staked by a mere human, and so was their father as he tried to defend her. Damon started toward their parents, but Kali pulled him back and ran as the humans were now aware of their presence. Damon followed him, but he lagged behind. His brother was faster than him, and they were separated.
Damon was caught by the humans and was taken to a research facility that had four levels, all below ground. He was tortured relentlessly just to see how he would react after injecting him with some drug that caused him to grow weak. He could not fight back, and after a while, he knew there would be no escape. This was his fate.
